Hire Creators to Review Your Restaurant, Café or Bar
Updated November 1, 2026
To get a restaurant review that works, start with a short brief that says exactly what you want, pick creators whose audience lives near you, agree on deliverables and a posting date, and pay once the post is up. If you serve alcohol, there are extra rules to follow.
Write a brief a creator gets in one minute
A good brief isn't long, but it answers what a creator wants to know before applying.
- What to feature: a signature dish, a new menu, the view, the vibe, or a current promotion.
- Who you want to reach: say office workers in Silom, students, families or tourists.
- Days and times: when they can come. Avoid your rush hour, when it's packed and hard to film.
- What you give: a fee, a meal (state the set or the spending limit) and how many friends they can bring.
- What you need back: platform, format, how many pieces, and posted within how many days.
- What's off limits: for example no filming other guests' faces, and if you serve alcohol, no alcohol brand names or logos.
Say what must be in it, but don't write a script. Creators know what their audience likes, and a clip told in their own style usually works better.
Agree on deliverables up front
| Type | What the creator does | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Visit + post | Comes in, eats, films, then posts a review | Most restaurants and cafés; the most common setup |
| Post only | You send products or delivery, they post | Desserts, drinks, packaged goods |
| Visit only | Shows up without having to post | Opening nights, events, or nights you want buzzing |
Put these details in the brief so you don't have to chase them later:
- Deadline, e.g. posted within 7 days of the visit.
- Platform and format, e.g. one TikTok video, an Instagram Reel or a Lemon8 post.
- Your @mention and hashtag. They help people find you, and Ngaan uses them to detect the post automatically.
- An ad label like #โฆษณา whenever the creator gets something in return. See how to label sponsored posts.
- A location tag, so viewers can open the map straight away.
How much to budget for a restaurant review
- Nano creators (under 10,000 followers): ฿300–2,000 per post, or a meal instead.
- Micro creators (10,000–100,000 followers): ฿2,000–15,000 per post, usually plus the meal.
The food you give is a real cost, so count it in the budget. On a tight budget, several affordable creators posting over a few weeks usually beat one expensive one. More in micro creator marketing and gifted or paid.
For now venues pay creators directly and mark it paid on Ngaan; the creator confirms it arrived. Payments left unconfirmed for more than 7 days show on the venue's page.
On the day: check-in and approving drafts
- Tell your staff who's coming, what they get and how many friends they can bring. On Ngaan, door staff can see today's list.
- Check in with a QR code at the door, so you know who actually came. Anyone who booked and didn't show is recorded as a no-show, which hurts their reliability score.
- Seat them somewhere easy to film: good light, not cramped, and the star dish served while it still looks its best.
- Approve the draft (paid gigs). Turn on draft approval for the gig; it's on by default for paid gigs from ฿3,000. The creator sends a draft and you approve it or send it back with a note.
- Review each other afterwards. Venue and creator review blind; reviews publish when both are in, or after 14 days.
When approving a draft, only fix what's actually wrong, like a price, a dish name or opening hours, not the storytelling. For a gifted visit worth a few hundred baht, skip approval so nobody is slowed down.
Bars, clubs and venues that serve alcohol
Since 8 November 2025, the amended Alcoholic Beverage Control Act (No. 2) sets stricter rules on alcohol advertising, including creator content. What venues should know:
- No alcohol brand names or logos in content a creator gets anything for, whether cash, a free table or drinks.
- Indirect advertising is banned too: no bottles or labels in shot, no hints that point to a brand.
- Creators must be 20 or older for visit gigs at venues that serve alcohol. Ngaan checks their birth date when they apply or claim.
- Show everything else instead: the space, the music, the food, the view, events and mocktails.
- Clubs and bars need a verified phone number before posting visit gigs.
