Alcohol advertising rules

Last updated October 29, 2026

Since 8 November 2025, the amended Alcoholic Beverage Control Act (No. 2) sets stricter limits on alcohol advertising, including by creators. This is a plain-language summary of how it applies on Ngaan. It is not legal advice.

For creators

  • Don't show or say alcohol brand names or logos in content you get anything for — cash, a free table, drinks or tickets.
  • Indirect advertising is banned too: no bottles or labels in shot, no brand-coloured merchandise, no hints that point to a brand.
  • If you received any benefit, say it's advertising: add #โฆษณา to the post.
  • You must be 20 or older for visit gigs at places that serve alcohol. We check your birth date when you apply or claim.
  • You can still film the venue, the food, the music, the view and the mocktails.

For venues

  • If you serve alcohol or post a nightlife gig, you confirm the rules when you publish, and every brief carries them: no alcohol brand names or logos in deliverables.
  • Don't ask creators to feature drinks brands. Showcase your space, food, events and alcohol-free drinks instead.
  • Clubs, bars and event organisers need a verified phone number to post visit gigs.
  • Ngaan has no category for alcohol brands, and attempts to promote one are reviewed by our team.

What Ngaan does

Shows the rules in the gig wizard and on gig pages, turns disclosure on by default, checks posts for #โฆษณา and shows the business whether it's there, and blocks under-20s from visit gigs at alcohol venues.

If something goes wrong

Breaking the Act can lead to fines for the person who posts and for the business. If a business asks you to break these rules, refuse and report it from the gig page.
